How do I join polo?

Hi there,
I am new to all of this! I am really interested in playing polo as an ameateur. I live in Spring Texas which is pretty close to Houston. In Houston is the Houston Polo Club where I can, and will be taking lessons. However, how do you play as an ameateur? I am not sure, but I thought that the Houston Polo Club only has adult/professional teams? Any advice?
Thanks!

Hello Molly,
PolochicaMaybe this info will help. HPC has a polo school that is held during the seasons where there is enough field availability to have it (it's a very busy club). I think they're hosting one this Spring. They also offer 0-2 goal 'Margarita Leauge' but you need to have some polo experience and your own or leased horses, in order to play the 0-2. I am pretty sure that both of these require you to be a full club member (for sure to play the 0-2). Call the office at 713 681 8571, they are very friendly and can fill you in on the details. There is also a pro named Mark Prinsloo that hosts summer and winter polo at his ranch including a polo 'school' most seasons, and he has horses available to lease as well. Ask HPC for his number. Good luck!
