Status of Polo Here In The West . . .

Friday, July 11, 2008, 01:22 PM PST [General]

    Hi Everyone,

I just moved out to the desert area about a week ago.  I drove through the Eldorado Polo Club this week and  they have the water pipes out on all the fields and the grass is looking green.  I'm not sure where they are in the process of aerating the fields, but you can read more about it in their recent July 08 newsletter.  Here is the link . . .

Eldorado Polo Club is still in the process of interviewing new polo managers, so we will keep you posted on when a final candidate is hired.

Fish Creek and Empire Polo Club here in the desert have early morning green horse polo going on.  I'm going to venture out this weekend and see who is in town and playing to beat the heat.  We actually had a little rain last night in Indio, CA and a light thunder/lighting storm.  I think it is only 93 F today thus far.  Not bad for July in the desert!

Santa Barbara is ramping up for their 20-goal season.  We will have more news soon as they start the first tournament games this weekend.

San Diego two more weekends of polo before their break which runs from July 20th - Aug. 7th.  They are offering a special visiting player package for the 14-goal Triple Crown/Spreckels Cup.  Check out the following link for more details . . .

San Diego also hosted their annual July 4th Arena match last week.  Here is a link o photos and results . . .

Hidden Creek Polo Club near Portland, OR hosted a July 4th party and exhibition match.  Click on the link below to read more about their event.

I'll be heading up to Calgary Aug 4th - 11th to check out Black Diamond Polo Club. I'll post news and photos when I return from that trip.

In the meantime, please post what is going on a your home club this summer.  How is your club membership this year?  The polo?  How are you getting new members? We need to share information so we can work together to grow the industry.

    Welcome To The PoloZONE.com Community

Wednesday, March 5, 2008, 11:32 AM PST [General]

I wanted to welcome everyone to the new PoloZONE Online Community.  The purpose of PoloZONE's Online Community is to increase communication and connections within the Polo Industry.

Many of you are familiar with MySpace, FaceBook and other online communities. The PoloZONE Community is very similar.  Once you join the PoloZONE Community you can set up your own profile page, upload photos, videos and write your own blog. The good news is that membership is FREE!!!

I encourage you to keep your personal profile pages professional in terms of content and photos. Below are some ideas on how to use the profile pages to get jobs, promote your services and to meet other players.

Pros can use their profile pages to promote themselves and to obtain playing jobs. If you are a pro looking for a job you may find your next sponsor/patron through PoloZONE's Online Community.  Use your profile as your playing resume. Update your profile with locations where you are playing, photos of tournaments you have won and post your most current handicap.

Sponsors/players can search the profiles for grooms, barn managers, vendors, pros, and meet other players.  It is a great way to promote your team as well.  Trophy shots, photos of your string or photos of you playing polo.  Think of your profile as a brochure about your involvement with polo.

Polo Clubs can use the profile pages to tell players about their facilities, post announcements about parties and events, promote upcoming tournaments and to market both playing and social memberships.

Vendors can promote their products and services to the polo community, answer questions and increase their marketing presence through the PoloZONE Community.  Vendors can use their profiles to announce new products or services or post related news and announcements.

Polo Fans can participate too.  You don't have to play polo to be part of the polo community. You can use your profile to show photos of parties, events or shots of your favorite teams/players.  Promote your favorite clubs or tournaments.  Use your imagination and have fun.  It is a great way to connect with polo enthusiasts around the World.

Polo is already a very close knit community.  The PoloZONE Online Community is intended to enhance communication by giving everyone the tools to communicate and post content in one virtual location.

PoloZONE continues to provide all content FREE of charge.  The PoloZONE Online Community is an extension of this service.  Please sign up and participate.  It takes many individuals to make a community work.  So sign up for your FREE membership to the PoloZONE Community today and start participating.

Feel free to contact me directly with questions, concerns or if you see any inappropriate content.  Thank you!!!

Tips On Profiies Not Showing Up . . .

If you have signed up for a profile and it is not appearing in the People list your profile did not get saved during the sign-up process.   Log in to your account and  and click the Profile Tab.  Next, open the set-up wizard and check if there is a Red X by any of the requirements. If there's one by the profile setup then you need to click "Launch" and click the "Save"  button. Then your profile will be viewable on the network.
